Good Eats: Fisherman's Catch

One of my favorite places to eat is Fisherman's Catch on Highway 78.

Fish camps used to proliferate in Atlanta, but most are gone now. Fortunately, this family-owned restaurant is still hanging on.

Fisherman's Catch is located at 4123 Stone Mountain Hwy. (Hwy. 78) in Lilburn. It sits across the highway from Home Depot. The phone number is 770-979-2296. Hours are 5-9 pm, Tuesday through Sunday. It's not open for lunch, or on Mondays.

There's a wide variety of seafood, and prices are remarkable. Mid-week sees all-you-can-eat specials, fried catfish or flounder or popcorn shrimp. Most entrees are $10 or less. Service is friendly and the food is delicious. I've not yet had a bad meal there. Last week I had catfish, served whole with hush puppies, a baked potato, and a salad. Yum!

I greatly prefer Fisherman's Catch to the nearby Red Lobster and Joe's Crab Shack with their two-year-old frozen fish. I like to support this local business.

You should try it out.
