The Draining of Pine Lake
For several weeks now the waters have been slowly draining from the lake. This is in preparation for a 1.5 million dollar dredging project which the city has been lucky enough and smart enough to organize. The eastern (upstream) half of the lake is now dry, and the western half will soon follow.
I'll write more about the dredging, but today, here are some photos.

A lot of stumps and tree debris in the lake. Can some of this be cleaned up and removed? The trees were cut and left to create a lake and the stumps are ever were. The lake is only a couple feet deep when full. So much debris though.
The old stumps and debris were removed after the lakebed was dry and the bed was then dredged to make the lake deeper and the banks reworked to make them more stable. Before the lake was refilled stumps were placed here and there to serve as habitat for fish and turtles and other fauna.
