Native Vegetation

Susan Ahl was wondering just which trees and shrubs the city is having planted in the wetlands.

This morning I asked this man...

... what he was unloading from his truck...

... and he was kind enough to show me his manifest:

All four species are native to the Southeast.

I suspect most of the trees are native, too, so I looked for tags on the unplanted trees at the unloading area near the beach house.

I saw this wrapping...

... just a second. Here it is upside down:

I thought, "Oh, dogwood!"-- but a look at other trees...

... revealed they were not dogwood trees, but in fact dog food trees. So good news, pet owners! You can kiss you kibbles bill goodbye!
