Crick's Up

After last night's heavy rain Snapfinger Creek is running high and at places almost out of its banks.

Here's the creek just before the rain:

The alien crop circles (er, drainage areas) beside the lake are doing their job handling runoff from the streets on the south (front) side of the city.

The lake, which has been deliberately kept low, is a foot or so higher:

The downstream ponds, which have been dry, or nearly so, are full:

The last flood left a lot of debris at the end of the western (downstream) wetlands; that's because a tree has fallen and is obstructing the flow:

I'm wondering if it's the same one I saw on Thursday at the dam at the end of the eastern wetlands.

Maybe not. I saw a number of other balls:

On one of the lists someone thought the debris field was trash being dumped, but it's clearly detritus dropped by the creek.
