Every once in a while something so odd comes along that you're just compelled to share it.
All politics aside, the website of George Hutchins is perhaps the most bizarre thing I've ever seen.
George is a failed Republican candidate for North Carolina's 4th Congressional district. He promises to run again in 2012.
A couple of years ago my girlfriend stumbled across a reference to Huchins' "NON-PROFIT, CIVIC, PRO-JOB CREATION, INTERNATIONAL HISTORICAL RESEARCH, LEGAL GLOBAL CRIME FIGHTING WEBSITE." website on Bob Cesca's Goddamn Awesome Blog (as it was then called). She was intrigued by comments like "My eyes are bleeding after viewing that site!" and took a look, inviting me over the phone to tune in too.
I did and we laughed for a solid hour over Hutchins' inclination toward redundancy, needless quote marks, misspellings, random punctuation, over-the-top use of text highlighting, quotes like "A better administration of American resources will bring more better jobs," and his sheer ego.
I took a look again tonight and Hutchins' site has not improved with age.
First, it's uglier than ever. Second, Mr. Hutchins' schizoid verbal style has gone over the top. Third, lately Hutchins' site has gone even more off the deep end with the most unapologetic form of racism. That's more than sad, for it has turned him from a wingnut into a hater.
On Hutchins' message boards people ask deliberately tongue-in-cheek questions of Hutchins. Here's an example. If you follow the link you'll see Mr. Hutchins at his nonsensical, disjointed, and possibly insane worst. By the way, "Real Republican," as you'll no doubt immediately surmise, is actually Hutchins querying and responding to himself-- unless there's more than one human with Hutchin's hyperbolic multicolored style.
Hutchins is a strange man. He believes there was mass voter fraud in the 2008 Presidential election, wants to put poor people to work planting cotton, bring back chain gangs, put time limits on those appealing death sentences, convince filmmakers to leave Hollywood for rural North Carolina and European vacationers to stop going to New York and the Grand Canyon in favor of his fourth district. He is harsh in his criticism of "gay male homosexuals," but strangely tolerant of lesbians and female gender benders. Oddly, considering his other views, he is pro-choice. I thought him perhaps an iconoclast; now I find him just another ignorant racist know-nothing. Still, I thought I would share his URL just so people can see the true meaning of the word ugly.
Hey, I'v created a blog to track this idiots latest stunts
